So these are just delightful. Huge thanks to About Time for sending me a container of Cinnamon Chip protein pancake mix to try!! Since protein pancakes are one of my favorite things in life you can imagine my excitement about coming home to a container of this deliciousness.
These pancakes are seriously legit. Like I actually think about them in my free time. There are two flavors (cinnamon spice and chocolate chip), both of which have 21 grams of protein, 12 grams of sugar, and 6 grams of fiber. The cinnamon chip flavor actually has little cinnamon chips in it that are heaven. Really, really delicious. I made a batch for other fitness/food loving friends and they got rave reviews as expected ;). The protein source in the mix is a whey isolate and it’s combined with a gluten free oat flour, buttermilk, flax, spices, and stevia. Photo of the full ingredient list below.
Now let’s talk about how easy these are to make. You just take 1/2 cup dry mix, add 1/4 cup water or almond milk, mix the two together with a fork, and cook them. They’re slightly sweet but not too sweet, and honestly just really good. Genius idea About Time.
As far as price goes, it looks like a 1.5 pound container of mix ranges from $19 – $23 (see here).
ALL THE STARS you guys. These are pure protein pancake glory. I topped this batch with hemp hearts and goji berries, and am already looking forward to other topping adventures (hi nut butters, fresh berries, coconut whip cream…..).
